Project Overview

Venergy Solar partnered with Stockland, one of Australia’s foremost diversified property developers, to deliver a large-scale, integrated rooftop solar initiative across four of its Halcyon lifestyle communities in Victoria. The project saw the successful deployment of customised 3.96 kW solar systems to 1,120 homes across Horizon, Evergreen, Highlands, and Jardin communities.

Each installation was tailored to the home’s orientation and structure, fully embedded within Stockland’s network infrastructure, and integrated with Sungrow’s iSolarCloud monitoring platform. The rollout delivers over 4 MW of clean energy capacity and directly supports Stockland’s commitment to sustainability, carbon reduction, and resident cost-of-living relief—generating 5,540 MWh in clean electricity and saving over $1M in household energy costs in its first year.

“Partnering with Venergy Solar on our residential solar rollout across four Victorian Halcyon communities has delivered exceptional outcomes for our residents and our sustainability commitments. Their innovative approach to embedded network solar integration enabled us to provide clean, affordable energy at scale, while ensuring seamless delivery, future-ready infrastructure, and outstanding compliance. This project has become a national benchmark in sustainable community living.”

The Challenge

Deploying individual rooftop solar systems within lifestyle community developments posed significant cost and compliance challenges, particularly due to the traditional requirement for per-home network protection hardware. This added thousands in cost per dwelling, threatening project viability and scalability.

The Solution

Venergy engineered an innovative, cost-effective network protection system using existing fibre infrastructure and modified consumer-grade components—cutting protection hardware costs by approximately 90%. Combined with advanced Power Line Communication (PLC) technology and centralised monitoring via Sungrow’s iSolarCloud, the solution enabled seamless, compliant solar integration across all homes at a dramatically reduced cost.

The Results

The large-scale solar integration across 1,120 homes within four Stockland Halcyon communities is delivering a combined estimated annual output of 5,540 MWh, translating to over $1 million in household energy savings (ex GST) and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 4,600 tonnes of CO₂ per year. The rollout exceeded performance and savings projections in its first year and was delivered seamlessly alongside residential construction, with zero disruption to homebuyers or community infrastructure.

This landmark initiative has become a replicable model for residential embedded network solar integration nationwide, significantly enhancing Stockland’s environmental credentials and positioning the Halcyon developments as a benchmark in sustainable community living. The project has garnered widespread industry recognition and accelerated Stockland’s pathway toward net-zero emissions, while simultaneously supporting residents with future-ready energy infrastructure and long-term cost-of-living relief.
