Project Overview

Resthaven Murray Mallee Hills Community Services, located in Murray Bridge, delivers essential in-home and community-based support for older people across the region. Providing everything from home care packages (Levels 1–4) to nursing care and social engagement, Resthaven plays a vital role in enabling independent living for seniors.

As part of their broader commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, Resthaven partnered with Venergy Solar to install a 20 kW solar energy system at their Swanport Road facility. This project aligns with their values of care, responsibility, and forward-thinking community leadership, while reducing environmental impact and lowering operational costs.

The Challenge

Operating a community services facility with constant energy demands—especially for client support, administration, and environmental comfort—Resthaven faced growing energy expenses. They required a sustainable solution to manage costs while maintaining service quality.

The Solution

Venergy Solar delivered a custom 20 kW solar PV system, designed to meet the site’s energy needs during daylight operating hours. Using efficient panels and proven installation practices, the system was integrated seamlessly without disrupting services.

The Results

The newly installed 20 kW solar system at Resthaven Murray Bridge now generates approximately 20,000 kWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing the facility’s reliance on grid electricity. In the first year alone, the system delivered over $9,000 in electricity bill savings, improving the organisation’s cost control. The transition to solar has also enhanced Resthaven’s energy resilience and strengthened its environmental credentials, aligning with its core values of care and responsibility. Overall, the solar installation is contributing to lower long-term operational costs while supporting sustainable service delivery.
