Project Overview

Venergy Solar partnered with Plumbify, a leading South Australian plumbing and trade services business, to deliver a tailored rooftop solar and battery storage solution that supports their commitment to sustainability, cost-efficiency, and operational resilience. The system features a combined 18.48 kW capacity, comprising 42 high-performance Trina Solar panels, a Sungrow SH15RT hybrid inverter, and a Sungrow SBR160 battery for advanced energy storage and blackout protection.

Designed and delivered to maximize energy independence and business continuity, the system was installed with minimal disruption to daily operations and fully integrated with backup capability to support essential loads during outages. The solution is monitored in real-time through Sungrow’s smart energy management platform, providing Plumbify with detailed insights into performance and consumption patterns.

In its first year, the system generated approximately 26.10 MWh of clean electricity, reducing annual grid reliance by over 80% and saving the business an estimated $6,551 (ex GST) in energy costs. With annual CO₂ savings of 22.91 tonnes—equivalent to planting over 1,090 trees—the project strengthens Plumbify’s sustainability roadmap, including their shift toward electric vehicle adoption, while reinforcing their role as an environmental leader in South Australia’s trades sector.

“The solar and battery system installed by Venergy Solar has significantly reduced our energy costs, strengthened our business continuity, and accelerated our transition toward a more sustainable operation. Their tailored approach and commitment to quality have made a measurable difference to our business and our environmental impact.”

The Challenge

Plumbify faced frequent power outages that disrupted daily operations, and rising electricity costs were impacting business profitability. They needed a solution that would stabilise energy expenses, ensure operational continuity, and support their transition to more sustainable practices, including electric vehicles.

The Solution

Venergy Solar delivered a fully integrated 18.48 kW solar and battery system tailored to Plumbify’s specific needs. The system incorporates high-efficiency Trina Solar panels, a smart Sungrow hybrid inverter, and an advanced battery setup that provides seamless backup power during blackouts. Smart monitoring tools were also deployed, enabling real-time visibility into energy production and usage, helping Plumbify make data-driven decisions and optimise performance.

The Results

The rooftop solar and battery installation at Plumbify is delivering an estimated annual output of 26.10 MWh, offsetting over 80% of the business’s yearly grid electricity usage. The system has outperformed expected savings benchmarks, with an estimated $6,551 (ex GST) in first-year energy cost reductions. Seamlessly integrated into the business's operations with no disruption to services, the system has provided reliable backup power during outages—ensuring uninterrupted workflow. Beyond financial benefits, the project offsets approximately 22.91 tonnes of CO₂ annually, the equivalent of planting over 1,090 trees each year, positioning Plumbify as a sustainability leader in South Australia’s trade sector.
