Project Overview

Venergy Solar proudly partnered with Caritas College in Port Augusta to deliver a 100 kW commercial solar PV system, supporting the school’s mission of sustainability and stewardship. Rooted in Catholic values and the spirit of Mary MacKillop, Caritas College fosters an inclusive learning environment and strong community values. The solar initiative aligns perfectly with the school’s commitment to environmental responsibility, cost-efficiency, and educational excellence.

“At Caritas, we focus on making a difference in both education and the broader community. This solar project is a step toward reducing our environmental footprint while being fiscally responsible for future generations of learners.”

The Challenge

Like many regional schools, Caritas College faced rising energy costs while aiming to maintain funding priorities focused on learning resources and student wellbeing. Additionally, the school sought to lead by example in implementing practical steps toward sustainability.

The Solution

Venergy designed and installed a 100 kW system using high-efficiency solar panels and tier-1 inverters to ensure long-term reliability and maximum output. The system was integrated seamlessly into school operations with minimal disruption and backed by comprehensive support and monitoring.

The Results

The solar installation at Caritas College is estimated to generate 131,400 kWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing reliance on grid electricity. This transition is expected to deliver over $59,000 in yearly electricity bill savings, easing the school’s operational expenses. In addition, the project contributes to a notable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing the school’s role as a leader in environmental education and sustainability. The investment also enhances energy independence and ensures long-term cost control for the college.
