WA Households: Don’t Miss the Battery Rebate.
Venergy Solar partnered with Walker Corporation to deliver a cutting-edge rooftop solar energy solution across three high-rise towers in the iconic Collins Square precinct, one of Melbourne’s largest commercial developments. The systems span a combined 223kW capacity, using Trina 450W Tallmax panels, SolarEdge optimised inverters, and locally manufactured components including SUNLOCK racking and SolarTune protection boards.
Delivered in a live, high-density CBD environment, the systems are fully integrated with regenerative lifts, BMS/EMS, and trigeneration units, supporting NABERS 6-star rated buildings. A total of 500 solar panels were installed across Towers 1, 2, and 4, achieving an impressive 99.7% site utilisation and contributing significantly to Walker Corporation’s national sustainability targets.
Installing solar at height across three operational high-rise towers presented unique technical and logistical challenges. Each rooftop had limited usable space and was shared with co-generation systems and other critical infrastructure. Planning had to ensure zero disruption to high-profile tenants such as KPMG, AUSTRAC, and MLC Insurance. Panel-level monitoring, acoustic management, noise scheduling, and generator safety interlocks were essential to satisfy the site’s engineering, safety, and operational constraints.
Venergy engineered a custom rooftop layout using high-efficiency 510W Trina Solar panels, allowing full system capacity within a constrained area. A dual inverter system with split-phase configuration was designed to operate within limited DB capacity, while a freestanding bracket was developed to mount one inverter near the connection point where wall space was unavailable. Installation was completed using GEDA SolarLift technology to ensure safe, efficient lifting of materials without interrupting business operations.
Across the three towers, the systems are delivering a combined annual output of 275.1 MWh, with site utilisation rates of up to 100%. The project contributes to a 40.98% annual energy reduction across Collins Square and enhances the precinct’s 6-star NABERS energy credentials. The installation was delivered with no disruption to tenants and has become a model for high-efficiency commercial solar in Australia’s CBDs. The success of the project demonstrates Venergy’s ability to safely and effectively deliver large-scale rooftop solar in the most challenging urban environments.

Matthew Wilkins
CEO | Venergy Solar Australia
On what was the wettest night on record in five years, Venergy CEO Matthew Wilkins braved the conditions on 17th June sleeping outside in Adelaide, smashing his $10,000 fundraising goal with $16,500 in the 2021 Vinnies CEO Sleepout.
Participating in his first Vinnies CEO Sleepout, Matthew’s fundraising efforts earned him a place amongst the Top 10 contributors on the night. A combined 136 CEOs from South Australia took part and together reached the highest donation amount yet, smashing its fundraising target of $800,000 by more than 100k – raising more than $900,000.
As an active board member of Blinding Sporting Council, Matthew Wilkins’ key focus is “creating fundraising opportunities. Through discovering these opportunities, I oversee from concept to realisation and ensure all money raised provides benefit to those most in need throughout South Australia’s blind and vision-impaired community.”
Matthew has worked with the legendary Victor Velgush, partnering with The Captain Davo for a charity event in March. TCD did a charity stream from SkyCity and Velgush made a huge personal donation of $5,000 off his own back. The BSC (also known as Eye Play Sport) was established in 1996 to provide support to people who are blind or vision impaired participating in sports, recreation, and community events.
He did it! Our Commercial Bid and Strategy Manager, Curtis Montgomery, was one of the 100 brave souls who abseiled 70 metres down the InterContinental Adelaide on 17th September 2021 and had an absolute blast. He and the Venergy Australia Team have raised over $1,160 for Ronald McDonald House Adelaide to help and support seriously ill and injured children and their families.
Well done, Curtis! We are so honoured that you took part in the 2021 Adelaide City Plunge, and thank you for your amazing fundraising efforts.
All of Adelaide City Plunge participants have raised over $165,000 for RMHC SA, which equates to more than 1,040 nights’ accommodation. Congratulations and thank you RMHC SA and Zenith Events for such a great experience!
